Master Italia SpA starts a new chapter changing its status into a Benefit Company.

In a pioneering move on January 11, 2024, Master Italia SpA proudly announced its transition into a Benefit Company, changing its own business name into Master Italia SpA – Società Benefit a Socio Unico. This monumental decision solidifies the commitment of both the company and the brand Atlantis Headwear to lead the change in sustainable headwear market. 

The journey toward sustainability has been ingrained in our ethos since 2018, making this transition to a Benefit Company a moment of immense pride and achievement. Grounded in the principles of civil economy, we have meticulously outlined specific goals that shape our daily operations. These objectives are seamlessly woven into a comprehensive medium-to-long term action plan, guiding our trajectory towards a more sustainable future. 

What is a Benefit Company? 

A benefit company is a corporation that balances profit and common good. These legal forms, introduced in Italy in 2016, operate responsibly, with transparency and sustainability, publishing an annual impact report that lists their commitment about people and the environment. It is often confused with a B Corp, even though the two have distinct characteristics. While the benefit company is a legal choice, the B Corp is a company that has obtained a certification issued by B Lab, evaluating the entire social and environmental performance of the organization. 

 As its first activity as a benefit company, Master Italia will focus its efforts on 6 impact areas: governance, people, environment, community, product, and supply chain. Each of these areas has specific micro-goals, with the aim of improving in each of them and becoming a certified B Corp in the future.
