Supplier ESG Rating: responsibility and innovation in Atlantis Headwear’s supply chain
Atlantis Headwear is consistently committed to sustainable production, and our "supplier ESG rating" system is one of the most significant initiatives driving this goal.
What is the Supplier Rating?
Supplier Rating is a structured system that evaluates our suppliers based on ESG criteria (environmental, social, and governance) through a questionnaire integrated into an online tool called the ESG Audit Tool. This system not only allows us to assess the sustainability level of our partners but also serves as an opportunity for improvement across the entire production chain.
A comprehensive evaluation system
Our supplier rating approach is built on three fundamental pillars:
- Continuous Evaluation and Monitoring
Using our online tool, we map and analyze the ESG performance of both direct and, partially, indirect suppliers. This enables us to identify strengths and weaknesses while monitoring progress over time. A transparent supply chain is essential to earning the trust of our customers and stakeholders. - Support and Shared Growth
We don’t stop at evaluation; the rating becomes an educational tool. We identify critical areas and work closely with suppliers needing support to implement tailored improvement plans. For example, we are launching a project with a supplier who has shown willingness and interest in collaborating for improvement. - Recognition and Valuing Results
We strengthen and recognize partnerships with the most virtuous suppliers who share our principles.
Within our Product Sustainability Framework, choosing suppliers with a positive environmental rating is a key principle, second only to using preferred materials. Every year, we aim to increase the number of products made with suppliers aligned with our sustainability principles, creating tangible impacts on both the environment and society
A Tool for in-depth monitoring
The tool, developed by Cikis Studio, addresses specific needs of the fashion industry:
- Enhanced supply chain visibility: Moving beyond isolated certifications to gain a comprehensive view of supplier sustainability.
- High-level insights: Instead of fragmented analyses in Excel or email exchanges, the tool provides a database revealing overall supply chain issues for strategic decision-making.
- Tailored analysis: Avoiding standardized systems, the tool adapts to specific supply chain characteristics.
The tool has been further customized to monitor the ESG performance of our suppliers with features such as:
- Specific weighting: Ratings are adjusted based on the supplier’s country, type of production, and workforce size, overcoming the limitations of standard questionnaires.
- Localized language support: The questionnaire is translated to ensure understanding and completion.
- Actionable insights: Suppliers are guided to improve their performance within set timeframes.
The supplier rating system, supported by the ESG Audit Tool, is an essential component of Master Italia’s due diligence process, ensuring compliance and fostering continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.
Atlantis Headwear sees the supplier rating not just as an analytical tool but as a genuine driver of change. Through this system, we actively work to reduce our environmental footprint, promote social responsibility, and ensure regulatory compliance. Our vision is clear: a sustainable, transparent supply chain that reflects Atlantis’ values and enhances the entire production ecosystem.
Together with our partners, we craft hats that tell a story of responsibility and innovation.
