Atlantis Headwear x ONA Short Film Festival Venice

From September 4th to 6th, the Venetian island of San Servolo will host a breathtaking short film!

Together again: Atlantis Headwear x ONA Short Film Festival Venice.

At Atlantis Headwear, we firmly believe that images have the power to inspire real change. That’s why, for the fourth year running, we’re proud to renew our partnership with the ONA Short Film Festival Venice. This independent festival, held during the Venice Film Festival, brings more than twenty short films to the lagoon, all dedicated to the outdoors, nature, and environmental awareness. It gathers filmmakers, athletes, and activists from every continent. The festival will take place against the stunning backdrop of San Servolo Island in Venice from September 4th to 6th. We’ll be there, and we invite you to join us for an experience that goes beyond the big screen, one that sparks regenerative visions by blending the poetry of images with a concrete commitment to our planet.

Behind the lens: an extreme photoshoot in the heart of the desert.

The concept “Pueblo del Sol”, developed by Joaquín Gómez, Festival Director, together with his creative team, found its expression in a location full of contrasts: the Atacama Desert. Endless stretches of wind-sculpted rocks, clear skies that attract astronomers worldwide, and a temperature swing from dry heat by day to freezing cold at night. But Atacama is also home to one of the largest fast fashion dumps: over 120,000 tons of polyester garments arrive annually in Iquique and end up buried in the dunes, often openly burned.

It was precisely in this extreme, almost polar opposite setting that we created a shoot at dawn and twilight, lighting the scene with the colors of sand and the celestial glow of the stars. Our protagonists are Elder and Viarly from the Desertika Escalada club: two climbers who have transformed climbing into a rite of rebirth for all women and dissidents within this community they lovingly call family. Their hands deftly navigate the rocks, their faces reflecting the sacredness that local cultures attribute to the desert: a space for meditation and challenge, where we are all one: “Pueblo del Sol”.

Atacama: where our sport caps meet the essence of the desert

A location this extreme calls for caps that can keep up. That’s why, for this special collaboration, we chose Erie, a sporty cap made from breathable technical fabric. Then there’s Pico, a bucket hat with a clean cut, alongside Isar, a relaxed, unstructured style. And of course Rio, a beanie made from 100% recycled polyester and the Goal S bandana complete the lineup. Each piece is designed to reduce CO₂ emissions and withstand the harsh conditions Elder and Viarly face daily, reflecting our commitment to recycled materials and durable design. In this way, the desert becomes more than just a backdrop; it becomes a partner in a story where cinema, adventure, and awareness merge into one vision. With ONA Short Film Festival Venice, we continue to write a chapter where creativity inspires action: from the set to the big screen, from climbers’ hands to the caps that protect them, step by step, on their ascent.
